if the Lakers can also sign al horford much better than getting a trade for Cousins. Whiteside and al horford in the front court is better I think than having Demarcus only plus a young athletic front court with thon maker and larry nance is a good variation for the team. They can space the floor for guards/ slashers like KD, conley, and russell.

*acquiring KD early this year could possibly lure potential FAs in the Lakers. It will be possible. The management should exercise possibilities and risks even it can make or break the Lakers and may put us to another disappointing season.

Those free agents above mentioned are most likely the best options for the lakers, the salary cap is something that the front office can address alone. For the past few seasons since til the post gasol era with kobe in 2012 we can't get the right players suited for today's basketball style which fast phase, perimeter game that space out the floor and a tough inside presence to crash the boards and defend. A max contract for KD and Whiteside is likely for the Lakers, a sign to atleast al horford or conley either of them is a plus to help the frontcourt or a guard that can help russell to develop.

My bad, those are options, I did not elaborate further, 2 or 3 signed top free agents is a no brainer and possibly a head start for the franchise.

They can still exercise vet min or other options.

Don't need both Horford and Whiteside. They are both centers so only one can start. If Derozan signs then Clarkson will be traded or not matched. I just don't see Clarkson coming off the bench. Like others said the roster won't work due to salary cap issues. All 5 starters are max players. Can only afford 2 of them maybe 3 with a trade.
