The Pistons are still looking to acquire a veteran guard and have their starting spots pretty well under control. Having just traded for Tobias Harris they got a big very skilled 3/ 4 and also Marcus Morris a big skilled 3/ 4 both young players. So to make a push they
trade Stanley Johnson for Lou Williams and second round pick.
Lakers do it to clear more cap space get rid of a guard to help the development and opportunities for Clarkson and Russell and get a skilled young small forward a position we desperately need.

Whether it is believable is up for debate, but they are very deep at the 2/3 spot and williams can also be a back up PG for them. If it was to happen though, I think something like:
Lakers give Lou Williams, Brandon Bass and 32nd pick
Pistons give Stanley Johnson, Anthony Tolliver and Joel Anthony
This could be an option in order to give them 2 very solid players and a pick for a young player and two players on the latter end of their career. According to the trade machine it would also make us have 7 less wins and give them 6 more wins, for what that is worth. And they wouldn't be able to start him in a lineup with Morris or Harris as they need a floor spacer, something that Johnson isn't yet.
Honestly though, I'm not sure they would part with him as he has a bright future.

Honestly I like this trade but only if the sixers take Ingram. I don't think Simmons is a fit with the Lakers at all and I don't have very high expectations for him as a pro. He couldn't turn around the lsu team how cold he turn around an nba franchise
