2017 potential roster

Sign westbrook
Trade for blake griffin (randle, lou, young)
If enough space or money sign Demarcus cousins
Wedtbrook/ Marcelo
Clarkson/ Russel
Deng/ Ingram
Griffin/ Nance
Mozgov/ Cousins

This is a pipe dream guys and I would give up randle lou and young for griffin (hes a FA player option but i'm assuming we wouldn't have cap space after westbrook. We can trade for griffin after he signs with a team.

Russel can play 2 but I doubt it will happen because he's an alpha guard unlike clarkson.

You can move deng to the 4 and ot could be westbrook, clarkson/ russel, Ingram, Deng, Boogie/ Mozgov

Letting u guys know that I know the only realistic signing is westbrook and that i'm just adding griffin and cousins as a pipe dream, so don't roast.

Let me know what u guys think.

You are right it is a pipe dream. Your over the cap for 1. Lakers could only sign 1 max free agent next offseason which would be Westbrook. So it would be impossible to add Griffin in a sign and trade without trading one of the following Clarkson, Deng or Mozgov. I rather add to what we have then make changes like trade for Griffin.

2.) 24 Jul 2016 18:58:11
Im not sure if it was intended but why is cousins a backup center for mozgov lol

3.) 24 Jul 2016 19:42:47
Doesn't Cousins have 2 years left?

If we get top 2 pick.

Package clarkson with top 2 pick and players like sacre young or kelly to Pacers for Paul George. Lakers don't want to wait more tears they want a star.

Sign KD if possible max contract
Same with derozan or Harrison Barnes
Sign Hassan whiteside for 20 mil/year
Sign festus ezeli as backup Center
Use the rest of money for other good role players like ryan anderson

Release

Kelly, sacre or young if not packaged for a trade because they're bad.

Resign huertas and black
Huertas would be a good fit in Waltons offense and black is a young center with a lot of athleticism

Russel/huertas/Lou
Paul George/Derozan
Barnes/Anderson
Black/Eseli/Whiteside
Nance/Randle

Lakers 2016 possible moves

Sign Kevin Durant as FA next summer

Trade for cousins, whatever it may take, just not trading young core (russel, randle, clarkson)

Its highly likely this year lakers will get one of the three top picks in Draft. Using this, sign Skal L (C), or Ben Simmons (top prospect) .

If we release. Some players like kelly, sacre, williams, we may also be able to afford another good player whos a consistent scorer (i. e. Butler, Derozan)

PG:Clarkson/Russel (both combo guards)
SG: Derozan, Butler, Anthony Brown
SF: Durant,
PF:Randle, Nance Jr.
C: Cousins/Upshaw/Tarik

Woth this lineup, were going to have a below average bench, and were going to be playing small ball like the GS Warriors. With the boost in budget due to kobes retirement, this lineup could be possible.

Please comment and/or give me your opinion, thanks.

You don't seem to understand small ball. The warriors are playing small ball because their power forward is 6'7 draymond green who was drafted to play small forward. Julius randle is 6'9 250 and a true power forward. Having him in is in no way small ball

2.) 09 Dec 2015 21:14:26
What I meant by small ball is the amount of shooting potential of the backcourt, in which most points are scored outside rather than inside eith the exception of randles penetration.

3.) 10 Dec 2015 15:36:58
Derozan and Clarkson are both midrange shooters. No much perimeter scoring

4.) 10 Dec 2015 16:11:20
Pretty sure midrange is outside of the key. Try to understand what I'm saying please.

5.) 10 Dec 2015 22:19:28
Explain to me how that is like the warriors? Their entire game is based on the 3 pt shot.

6.) 11 Dec 2015 21:16:43
Bruh, did you even read what I just said? I said most points will be made out of the KEY, and I just mentioned the Golden State Warriors because most of their points are out of the key. Please reanalyze my statement.

7.) 11 Dec 2015 21:20:22
Also, YOU need to understand what small ball is. Small ball isn't just scoring behind the three point line. What I meant by small ball is tht were sacrificing height and defense for more offense with players who have speed and aaccuracy.

8.) 12 Dec 2015 18:32:23
Thta's right. Don't reply.

9.) 12 Dec 2015 21:53:52
You just went against what you said before. You just said small ball is sacrificing height and defence for speed. Randle is not speed. He is a guy who can body people. Reanalyse your own statements.

10.) 13 Dec 2015 04:48:24
Randle is probably the QUICKEST PF amonst the rookies an juniors

11.) 13 Dec 2015 18:55:14
Again, reanalyze your statements.

Predicted Lakers 2016 Changes

Attempt to sign Kevin Durant as FA. KD is a good fit for Lakers because he will be replacing kone as franchise or star player

Release Sacre

Trade Brandon Bass, Nick Young

Top 3 overall pick - sign Ben simmons, Skal L.

You guys have to stop predicting Lakers are going to trade their young core ( Russel, Randle, Clarkson) because they're definitely not going to. We are most likely going to get one of the top 3 picks in the next draft. Lakers should be picking one of the following players: Simmons, Ingram, Labisierre, J. Brown, D. Bender.

After this comes the free agency. We should be aiming for DeRozan, Durant, Butler, Drummond, etc. We should expect to see Kelly, Sacre, Huertas (maybe), Black traded or released.

Jaysonf

1.) 03 Jan 2016 04:43:46
DeRozan, not happening. Drummond, definitely not happening. Durant doesn't seem likely but crazier things have happened. Butler who? Kelly, Sacre, and Huertas won't be traded (no value). Black will stay and probably be re-signed in the offseason.

2.) 03 Jan 2016 10:18:28
Metro Coonin as crazy as it sounds the Lakers have a shot at signing DeRozan, Drummond and Durant. Comes down to do they want to come here. All have been rumored to be opened to coming.

3.) 03 Jan 2016 23:49:38
Drummond is definitely not likely. He is a restricted FA. Detroit will match any offer. I personally don't feel DeRozan is worth the max but to each his own. Durant, it's going to come down to OKC, Wizards, and us. Wizards already have two star players on their team and he would have the chance to go home. Plus the East, he has a better chance to get back to the Finals also.

4.) 04 Jan 2016 00:47:14
When you say Drummond is definitely not likely. I disagree with that. The Lakers have a lot of cap space this summer and can give each one of those guys the max. You got to understand Detroit is last in attendance so they will only go so much money to match a max offer. If the Lakers come in at say $24M per season that would be hard on Detroit to match. I understand your point about DeRozan however if the Lakers don't pay it somebody else will. We have to look at it is if we want to win or not. Only so many free agents that can help win and would fit needs.

5.) 05 Jan 2016 00:56:48
@citydude: Reason I am saying Drummond is unlikely is because he is a restricted FA. Restricted FA's nine times out of 10 do not leave their teams. Drummond would have to do what Monroe did and take the QO and then he would be an unrestricted free agent the following summer. Detroit will definitely match any offer and money is not the issue for them. If the Lakers wanna pay DeRozan 20+ mil, then so be it. He is from Compton, so maybe that would step his game up a notch. My only concern would just be the outside shooting.

6.) 05 Jan 2016 03:07:16
It's not that concerning in regards to DeRozan's outside shooting percentage. He drives to the basket so he can score other ways. We have other players that can take those outside shots. If we bring in other players as well then it will all balance out. As far as Drummond. I totally understand your points. I just see things might happen a different way. With a big offer or even a sign and trade. I just can't imagine Detroit matching a big offer like that when they are already at $60m salary already next season.

I agree with these possibilities also. As for free agents I think we have a pretty good chance at signing andre drummond with the budget we have and it allows for him to promote himself in the Lakers franchise because he's still young. Harrison Barnes is also a realistic possibility but what I've read online it shows that Barnes wants more than 20mil, higher than what the warriors are offering him.

To be honest I don't think he's worth it, but if we have enough cap space and are in desperate need of an aquisition assuming the FA doesn't go too well he's one of the best choices. Kevin Durant might or might not stay with the Thunders. Reasons he would stay are that he's loyal to the franchise and fans, and the fact that Westbrook is there. He might leave because he's still ringless, meaning he might sign with teams like the Warriors (which I don't want to see happen).

he also lost his team, where he was the face of the thunders, but it looks like westbrook is doing better right now. The only reason KD would go o Lakers would be if we added elite players from trades or FA, and promote the spotlight he can have when kobe leaves, the young core( russel, clarkson, Nance, Randle, Brown). As for the Draft I also agree with you. Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram are definitely the ones we need to go for. Ben Simmons has the body of young LN, vision like Magic, and the lefty feel of Lamar Odom.

I agree with lakerwalkee.Russel is just a rookie, don't expect him to get 25pts and 5-10 assists per game. Ecerybody has to adjust to the NBA. If you are actually a Laker fan, you can see that russel is gaining a lot more confidence in his shot , averaging around 17 points per game along with about 3rbs and 3 asts.

He is. It would be sick if he became Westbrook 2.0 and become more aggresive at the paint instead of floaters. Don't get me wrong, he's good as he is rn, but I just want to see him evolve.

If the sixers pick simmons I would personally just trade our pick for a star player because the other prospects in this coming drafts aren't as flashy and a beast like Simmons.
