LAKERS
K. Bazemore 3 yrs
M. Delaney 1 yr

HAWKS
L. Deng 3 yrs
J. Randle 1 yr

I believe Bazemore can be a solid asset for lakers in the future. At Hawks he is asked to do too much on offense. However, at Lakers he doesn't need to. Clarkson and him off the bench could compliment each other and provide an unguardedable scoring threat. Lakers could have the best bench in the League. Clarkson, Bazemore, Kuzma, Nance, Bryant/Zubac. This trade comes at no risk as Lakers are not likely to give Randle the money he wants, and Bazemore is a huge upgrade over Deng.

You know the Hawks don't want Luol Deng, lol. For the Hawks or any GM to listen it will take Brandon Ingram being included to get Luol "Jim Buss signing" Deng off the Lakers books. Lakers will stretch him after the season.

Bazemore makes just as much as Deng and for the same amount of years. For a team trying to get out from underneath large contracts this would not work. And you give up Randle in the process for a Hawk throw in. Not a good trade.

NOP has a power forward. actually 2.and they are both All Stars (referring to Davis and Cousins) . Neither want to be call a center, but in today's NBA, who needs a center.

so lakers and nets are just swapping players? lol.

2.) 05 Jul 2017 22:32:21
No point in this. Deng isn't going to be moved in a hurry, he is more productive than Mozgov on both ends. Both deals were horrible but Deng is the better player. If they really wanted to get rid of Deng, they would've did it a lot earlier.

Chicago have 7 PGs on their roster. They are clearly in rebuild mode with Butler traded. They get a fan favourite returning in Deng after losing Butler and pick up a key starting power forward.

Lakers unload Deng to save even more money next year. They also receive a veteran point guard on a one year deal who can mentor Ball. They lose Randle. However, Nance, Kuzma and Bryant can fill his role. Randle is the odd man out being a restricted free agent after this season and also the roster currently featuring a logjam in the front court.

CHI
L. Deng
J. Randle

That's if you did Randall in the Paul George trade.

2.) 23 Jun 2017 15:39:52
Not sure if Bulls picked up the team option on Rondo yet. They can not pick it up and I believe they will try to buyout D wade.

Nikola Pekovic

This deal doesn't help the Lakers at all. Pekovic's career is over. Tyrus Jones isn't that good.

I made a post around the start of the season saying lakers should tank but that received a lot of hate. I am now wondering if fans now want lakers to tank hopefully getting a top 3 pick. Yes I know its not guaranteed for them retaining their pick but it is better then finish around 5th or 6th and only having a small chance of claiming our pick. THOUGHTS?
Leave a comment saying tank or win below.

Clarkson/Blue/VETERAN
Russell/A. Brown/J. Brown
Bryant/Young/VETERAN
Randle/Nance Jr/Kelly
YOUNG FA/Upshaw/VETERAN

*VETERANS PROVIDE THE NEED OF DEVELOPING ROOKIES AND KEEPING KOBE HAPPY.

*THIS TEAM IS EXTREMELY YOUNG AND i'm HOPEFUL WE CAN GET SOME TOP TIER FREE AGENTS NEXT YEAR AFTER KOBES CONTRACT COMES OFF THE BOOKS.

*ELITE FREE AGENTS NEXT SUMMER WE CAN SIGN TO COMPLETE OUR 3 YEAR REBUILD AND AT LAST CONTEND.
THOUGHTS??

LakerNation

That is actually realistic as far as what the team will look like. Outside of Aldridge which would be a long shot I don't see any elite free agents coming to the team. So developing is the only option.

Not a win-win either by stretching Deng's salary. Go big or go home. Not agreeing with the trade, but there's no point half-assing a run at a ring. Either trade him via picks for cap space or hang on to him for another year then trade him before Ingram wants to get paid.

citydude, It makes absolutely no sense to stretch him if we aren’t even going to use the cap space! If Deng wants out so bad, then he can buyout his contract, what’s the harm of having his contract on the books for an extra year, especially when he will be expiring the following year. But I agree with you, Magic will most likely be impatient and stretch him. Although I prefer he gets traded to the Mavs.

Why bother to stretch Deng when you don’t even put the cap space to good use? Especially when they’re just one year deals. May as well hold on to him unless we can really contend. Are we trading rosters with Mavs now? Lol.

It may not help Lakers now, but it helps Lakers in the future. Randle is looking for a big contract extension and I don't trust Ball's athleticism, unorthodox jumpshot and poor defense. If we really need a PG, Fox may slip to 5 or they draft Frank Ntilikina at Pick 10. Although Lakers should really go best player available.

The lineup was pretty weak when Hart was in the lineup, no Ball and Ingram for a few games. I just hope we pull it together so we don’t give the Celts a high draft pick. Cupcake and Buss are still screwing us over : (.

Why would you keep Pope for “backups”? He is pure trash. Low basketball IQ, anti-clutch, gambling defense, streaky shooting. It pains me too see him play. I don’t care if he shares the same agent as LeBron. LeBron isn’t just going to say “thanks for taking care of KCP, sign me up”. Josh Hart deserves to be getting his minutes, he is younger and without a doubt, better. That’s my 2 cents.
