IND- Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle & 2017 2nd overall pick.
George has expressed interest in playing for LA. The Pacers know he will probably leave for nothing after 17 if they are not competitive. Why not get two young solid role players and a top pick.
LAL- Hashan Whiteside
MIA- D'Angalo Russell, Timofey Mosgov, & 2019 1st (unprotected)
The Heat have the ability to start their rebuild around Russell and Winslow. They also can use Mosgov to fill the C void.
LAL- Elfrid Peyton
ORL- Nick Young
The Magic need shooters, and the Lakers need a distributing PG.
PG- Elfrid Peyton/Marcelo Huertas
SG- Gordon Heyward/Jordie Meeks
SF- Brandon Ingram/Corey Brewer

The new front office will want to make a big splash and start the winning process. They're not going to wait for Russell and top picks to develop. They will try to use their assets and bring in some big names.

The Paul George trade makes no sense right now. They need to develop young prospects to play around George. George will be a free agent after next season so he can come then. Lakers do not own the 2nd overall pick and just say when and if they do they shouldn't trade it for a pending free agent. Magic has high hopes for Russell. So I doubt he will trade him especially for Whiteside and 1st round pick the Lakers again don't have.

LAL get a star to attract some big names to LA again. Westbrook is from CAL so he would be home and likely resign. This gives LA a solid core to build around.

PHI gets the much needed backcourt help with Russell. Essentially swapping Okafor for Russell is a win for them.

No point in trading trading for Westbrook. With the team you show he will leave next year. That team won't get us to the playoffs. Now if we keep the young core and add Westbrook the. We have something. Then trade Russell and Mozgov and a 1st for Cousins.

Toolguy- I agree with the first part of your comment, it would be silly to trade for Westbrook, but then in the second half you essentially are doing the same thing. No need to trade for a player with one year left on their contract (cousins would have 1 year left on his contract next offseason). We are a few years away from putting in a serious playoff run anyways, may as well develop the youth

True. The more I think about it I really like the young core. I am excited to see this year. I know it was only summer league but I was empressed with Zubac. I think if everybody developes we can have a good team for a long time.
