Trade Hill, Sacre for draft picks, or opt out their contracts in the end of the season.

Keep their 5th round pick, and draft a Center (Okafor as 1st opt, or Towns as 2nd) or a Small Foward (Stanley Johnson).

If Lakers Draft a Center, then:
- Re-sing Ed Davis for 4-5M (He will opt out his contract)
- Sign Goran Dragic for 10M (1st option) or Reggie Jackson for 7M.
- Sign Tobias Harris for 10M
- Re-sign T. Black and W. Johnson for 1M each, Steve Blake for 500k.
- Fill the roster with 2nd round draft picks and minimum contracts.

15-16 ROSTER (If Drafts a Center)
Dragic (Jackson) - Clarkson - Blake
Kobe - Young
Harris - Johnson
Ed Davis - Randle - Kelly
Okafor (Towns) - Black

If Lakers Draft a Small Foward, then:
-Re-sing Ed Davis for 4-5M (He will opt out his contract).
- Sign Goran Dragic for 10M (1st option) or Reggie Jackson for 7M.
- Sign either DeAdren Jordan 13-15M (1st option), Al Jefferson 13-15M (2nd) or Vucevic 10M (3rd).
- Trade Ryan Kelly to clean CAP Space.
- Re-sign T. Black and W. Johnson for 1M each, Steve Blake for 500k.
- Fill the roster with 2nd round draft picks and minimum contracts.

15-16 ROSTER (If Drafts a Small Foward)
Dragic (Jackson) - Clarkson - Blake
Kobe - Young
Wesley Johnson - Stanley Johnson
Ed Davis - Randle
Jordan (Jefferson, Vucevic) - Black

In either option Lakers wouldn't sign a superstar, but would have a very good start line-up and some good players on the deep chart, also youngsters.
I would say that's a 45-37 team.

1.) Dragic would want atleast 12 Mill N Harris Reggie Jackson Atleast 10. Steve blake wouldn't Out out his portland contract to take Less $ n No Vet Can Make 500 k 1. 1 Is Min N Tarlik Black Sign next year for 800k I like your ideas you just got money wrong

2.) Good concept, but there are many different ways of doing this. This is my idea.

Trade Jordan Hill and a 2nd round pick to Phoenix for Gerald Green and Isaiah Thomas. This would give the Lakers youth, athleticism, and veteranship without starting from scratch. Gerald Green would have one year left on his contract and Isaiah Thomas would be locked in for four more years. Together their salaries would be 11 million subtracting 2 million from the cap.

Trade Taric Black, Jeremy Lin and Houston's 1st round pick to the hornets for Lance Stephenson. Stephenson is someone that Kobe would love because of his attitude. He is also one of the leading triple double players in the league this season and last season. The hornets will go for this trade because it gives them help down low with jefferson and give them an asset to trade with and gives them cap space at the end of the season.

Go after Deandre Jordan. He would sign for 15 million. The Clippers will not offer this contract to him again.

Allow Ed Davis to opt out and resign him for 8 million. You may be able to sign him for 5 million. He has shown that he wants to play in LA. He turned down an 8 million contract to play for the Lakers.

This plan would give the Lakers youth, athleticism, rebounding, shot blocking and a complete defensive team that can score. This also leaves 4 million to sign players to play with Nick Young coming off the bench. Kelly, Johnson, Clarkson, Boozer plus two others.

Isaiah Thomas/Clarkson
Kobe Bryant/Nick Young
Gerald Green/Wesley Johnson
Ed Davis/Ryan Kelly
Deandre Jordan/Carlos Boozer

3.) Lance Stephenson is not worth giving up Tarik Black and a 1st round pick. Lance would not thrive in LA because he is a 2-guard that needs to ball to make plays which is why he is having a down year in Charlotte. He would not be a good fit with kobe

Lakers gets D. Carroll
Atlanta gets Stephenson
Hornets gets Mike Scott, Bazemore and Ryan Kelly.

Lakers: Lin-Kobe-Carroll-Boozer-Hill

Atlanta: Teague-Stephenson-Kover-Millsap-Hoford

Hornets: Kemba-Bazemore-Kidd-Zeller-Jefferson

1.) Hawks wouldn't mess they team up lol like that wouldn't happen hawks are a team friendly team lance is a cancer

TRADE
Lakers gets Brook Lopez
Brooklyn gets Nash and Lin
Why it's possible: Lakers would search for a center on the next offseason. Lopez is a good option if stays health. Nash and Lin are both expiring and Lin would be a PG option for Nets since they desire to trade Deron Willians.

2015-2016 OFFSEASON
Sign Reggie Jackson 16M/4y
Opt Out from Hill and Sacre contracts
Re-sign Wesley Johnson and Wayne Wellington 1M/1y each.
Sign Gerald Green 8M/2y
Sign Kosta Joufos 2M/2y

2015-2016 ROSTER
Jackson - Clarkson
Bryant - Young - Wellington
Green - Johnson
Davis - Randle - Kelly
Lopez - Koufos

diogotmr

1.) Lopez is injury prone. Jackson I like but he doesn't play a lick of defense. Green would be a steal if we can get him.

2.) Everyone on here is fond of constructing sub-. 500 and. 500 teams. Scenario posits a lot of money poorly spent to tie the Lakers to their loverly anchor for several more years

2014-2015
Trade Nash
Sign Evan Turner 18M/3Y

Roster:
Lin-Nash-Marshall
Kobe-Clarkson
Turner-Young
Randle-Davis-Kelly
Hill-Sacre

2015-2016
Opt Out Hill or Sign-and-Trade
Trade Young
Sign Rondo 30M/3Y
Sign Al Jefferson 48M/4Y
Sign a backup Center
Draft a SG and a SF with houston picks

Roster:
Rondo-Clarkson
Kobe- (drafted player)
Evan Turner- (drafted player)
Randle- (Ed Davis)
Al Jefferson- (FA Center)

I have seen a lot of posts here talking about Lakers sign some Max Player/All Star next Summer. Well, I just don't see it happening. That's why I'm listing some very realistic options for next Free Agency, and the probably salary they will ask:

PG
Goran Dragic (PO) - 10M (i think he deserves more than this. And I don't think he will opt in with the Suns, since they have 3 top guards now. He wants a better role, and he would have a lot of minutes at Lakers, since he would be a starter, and also could be our SG in the future, after Kobe retires)
Reggie Jackson (RFA) - 8M (yes, he's is a restricted FA, but I don't think OKC will try to keep him. They have other priorities, and low CAP space).

SF
Tobias Harris (RFA) - 12M (i don't think Orlando Magic would let him go easly)
Gerald Green (UFA) - 9M

PF/C
Greg Monroe (UFA) - 12M
Paul Millsap (UFA) - 14M
DeAndre Jordan (UFA) - 15M

If this doesn't work, there would be a Plan B (Cheaper options, B- players), that could include:
Brandon Knight (PG, UFA) - good playmaker
Wesley Matthews (SG, UFA) - could play as SF, and take Kobe's spot as a SG on the future.
Mike Dunleavy (SF, UFA) - cheap veteran, still good shooter
Thadeus Young (PF, PO) - Needs to opt out from Minessota
Omar Asik (C, UFA) - Would have to acept a paycut, since he earns 14M/y.
Robin Lopez (C, UFA) - I still preffer Jordan Hill, but if we could sign him for 5M or less.

So, do you guys think that with these options Lakers could be a contender next year already?

diogotmr

1.) Excellent idea. I share the same thoughts. We need to be a bit lucky in free agency in terms of numbers. We also need to trade Jordan h and Jeremy for something useful for next season, either it be a draft pick or a player. We can't let them walk just for cap relief.

2.) These are all smart strategies moving forward for the Lakers franchise but how when we are over our salary cap with Kobe Bryant Kobe is no doubt the best in my opinion but its time to hang up the jersey and give this Lakers team a chance to land some big names as well as some assets like Dragic or Reggie Jackson

3.) Paul Millsap (UFA) - 14M will ask for much more after this season . around 18M.

Anyway we should try hard for M. Gasol or LMA from bigs, unless we get no1 pick.
Guard we should chase B. Knight. Yes a playmaker, so players want to come and play as they will know they will get a ball.
Go for G.Green as he can play SF for now and next year after KB retire he can play SG. as we will get KD :)

4.) Absolutely!

5.) You are probably 3-6 million off in almost all of your estimates. goran dragic is 18 mil + . Reggie Jackson 12-14 mil. greg monroe 15. milsap 16+ . Deandre 20 +

It seems very realistic for me. Whiteside is like the 5th option among the Centers on next FA. We could try some other first, but I think he will fit Lakers.
Also Chalmers is having a good season so far.
Not a championship team. But a very young group, with bright future.
