Looks we are going to hold onto Deng for this season. Pretty sure most teams want at least Hart for Deng trade. We are not going for the ring yet, so I get it. Still...would love to get that contract out of way this year.

The asking price to take Deng was either 2 of the following players: Ingram, Ball, Hart or Kuzma AND 2 future first round picks starting 4 years from now. That's a high price to pay just to unload Deng right now especially when the Lakers don't actually need to. Teams aren't stupid. They know what unloading Deng would get the Lakers so the price will be high. I say put Deng in the rotation off the bench and show what he can do. If he can average a decent number he might get some interest from teams in the offseason as an expiring contract. If not then stretch him.

This has been on my mind for awhile. News came that Magic is not working on Lorenzo's shot. At UCLA he hit .67% Free Throws / .55% FG / .42% 3pt. Last year he hit .45% FT's / .36 FG% / .30% 3 pt. The most glaring stat is free throws. He was just 67% at his best at UCLA. The shot needs to be change 15 feet or less. IF he had played enough games, he would have had the LOWEST % in the NBA. That's a red flag to say the least. You should have a starting point guard who can make charity strip points at a 70% clip or higher. The shot needs work or he probably needs to go. Period.

IF, and I do mean IF Lebron goes to Houston. They will need to make cap space and that means Capella is available. Personally, I would take Capella over Randal due to his defense. Management will need to work this out. Paul George is a must this summer.

Reports are that Capella will be offered the max. Right now for him its 4 years $96M. That would be out of the Lakers range so I personally don't see Capella being a Laker.

IF Lebron goes to Houston, as I stated in my post. it's to play with Chris Paul and Harden, to make a big 3 vs Golden State. They will all have max or near max salaries. There is simply not enough enough cap space for Capella, despite what you have heard. And yes if that happens, I still want Capella to be a Laker.

We need to get rid of Deng for next year. This is the last hurdle for $$$. We need a large expiring contract player (s) before the deadline. It will probably cost us more than picks. I'd hate to lose Hart. but maybe we can't avoid it. Ingram can go to SG, if needed. Chime in Laker World!

IF PG does not come to the lakes and signs a long term deal, he probably will be torched at Staples and LA media. Way to much leading us on for that supposedly laker fan. That being said, hopefully, he comes to his senses and back home. Also, I got no problem with King J arriving in LA, but the price / terms have to be right. He's got plenty of ADV money to compensate and will get even more by being here. We need to make sure and have funds for our 2019 max guy. Sorry Bogie fans. too risky for that type of injury and body type.

Considering how deep Phily and Boston are with young talent, we just have to wait to get max or superstar players. Getting max players and trading away key players, just to go deep in playoffs is not the LAKER way. We think championships. That being said, we do need to get George this year to start the dream sequence.

Leonard's Camp needs to let everybody / all the league know again that he absolutely wants to go to the Lakers when he becomes a free agent. Just to clarify the situation and shut the door on any major assets going to the Spurs, knowing he is just a rental. At that point, we may want to trade for him. Ingram and Deng and maybe a 1st or 2 2nd's. Just a thought.

Great convo. I know a lot of you still want Russell, but his wiffle ball defense was really damaging. Nance and Clarkson have been a non factor so far in the playoffs, that I know of, but they are solid bench players. Personally, I would sign Capella over Randal as his defense is outstanding and George will make up the scoring.

That was my point. Leonard makes 20M is 2018 / 19. Lopez and KCP are off the books, so that salary does have to be matched. Let alone what they want for him. That being said, would love to have Leonard. There are A L O T of moving parts here for Palinkz to consider.

Not sure if that works money wise and James is probably not likely. Just read an article that Whiteside is not happy. Possible sign and trade of Randal to Miami for Whiteside.
