How to make the Lakers in to champs.

First things first we have to cross are fingers and hope we land a top 3 pick.

Next order of business is not getting to caught up in who we draft as much making sure it's the best player. There is always a market for great players. Look at Wiggins for Love last year.

With that in mind I say we draft the best PG or C that we can get in the draft. We target Kevin Love as he is unhappy with his role on Cleveland, and we throw a everything we got left into signing Green off Golden Sate.

Start next year with a very good team.

Team A
PG high draft pick/ Clarkson
SG Kobe/ Young
SF Green/ Johnson Or 2nd round pick as back up
PF Randle/Ed Davis/ Kelly
C Love/Hill

Team B
PG Clarkson/Lin
SG Kobe/Young
SF Green/ Johnson/ 2nd round pick
PF Love/ Randle/ Kelly
C High Draft Pick/ Ed Davis/ Hill.

Not sure we champs, even with team A or B. West is so
Stacked, but a playoff team with a young core, Plus 3 all star level players and two future all star level players. Good team.

Team A for me. no way Love will play C

2.) 17 Mar 2015
Love fits nicely in Team B, in team A, Aldridge/Gasol are better options

3.) 17 Mar 2015
If lakers draft Towns or WCS, team B is a potential contender but Okafor and Love means no defense.

Lakers can't afford both Love and Draymond Green

6.) 21 Mar 2015
Whoever disagrees that the Lakers can't afford both Kevin Love and Draymond Green, please enumerate how this could be so? I'll wait.

7.) 23 Mar 2015
Love 19.4 million
Green 12 million

The Lakers will not have $31.4 million in salary cap and would have to move a lot of incumbent salaries to get that much cap space.

Also, Draymond Green is going to cost more than $12 million not to mention the Warriors management has been explicit in the fact that they will match offers. Furhtermore, Green has been playing PF for the Warriors as opposed to SF as suggested in the post.
