Seen a few lakers trying to get melo trades and I think this ones the best.

Lakers trade deangelo russel, Lou Williams, nick young, Larry mace jr

Knicks trade melo

This is really close to financially sound but I haven't tried it yet on a trade machine

Lakers get a nice player to make a run for this season with Kobe and a future player to draw free agents later.

Clarkson
Kobe
Melo
Bass
Hibbert

Knicks get a huge upside guard who can play both spots to rebuild with. A nice defensive player in nance And not terrible players to have as backs ups/ starters while the transitions happening. Also finally get rid of melo who hasn't lived up to the hype.

Thoughts?

This goes out to anybody who thinks the Lakers should trade Russell and other players for Carmelo. It would be a huge mistake to get Carmelo. He will demand the ball just like Kobe and there will be 50 shots taken per game with many misses. Teams in the west will rebound those misses and make shots themselves. That equals to quick losses. On top of that health and salary cap would be issues as well. It just wouldn't make sense bring him in when he won't make a difference in making the playoffs in the west. Lakers need to stick with the young talent they have and start the rebuilding process now. Get some wins while we are at it as well. I know people just want to trade everybody but in order to make the playoffs and win there has to be building to do that. Carmelo Anthony and neither is Demarcus Cousins the answer to that.

citydude has been going around replying to all post (dumb post and believable post) with nothing but negative things but he has not post anything yet good to read. he wants fans to believe tat the current roster was the best way. lol. yet they missed out on great FA tat could of helped rebuild the team instead of a bunch of rookies.

la-beast I only speak the truth. Yes the Lakers struck out on free agents this offseason. Ok they tried that. Now they need to play the season out and start developing players. let's see how Russell, Randle, and Clarkson play together. They haven't played 1 regular season game together yet and people want them gone. Making major moves now won't solve anything. People want Durant, Noah, and a few other top free agents next season. Cool I am for that. You want something positive there it is. let's keep that cap space open to attempt to sign free agents.

Nobody wants them gone. if u want talent then u got to trade talent for talent. u can't trade trash for talent. who has the lakers picked up in the offseason in the last 3 years to help the team? All they do is resign players for 1 or 2 years. c'mon now the offseason just past and your already waiting for the next off season. really? Only reason we got hibbert is because we traded for him. or do u just want to see if we miss or not again next offseason. explain why the lakers sucked for the last 3 years? I want to know? Or why nobody wants to sign. kobe might play again. u never know. gasol left. u got to trade dude. i'm speaking the truth.

Yes people here do want them gone. That is all I am reading on here which is why you see my comments all the time. Dumb deals. I do agree with you on talent for talent. Yes to get talent you can't give up trash. People have this Markieff Morris deal all the time I see. Well the Suns aren't going to take what the Lakers have to offer for him. So its not going to work. The key though is your pushing Carmelo. Dude Carmelo isn't going to make the Lakers a better team. He made the Knicks better for 1 season since he has been there. He will never make a finals apperance. The Lakers sucked the last few seasons because of multiple reasons but the main reason is defense. They gave up so many points and were near the bottom in defense. This off season they corrected that issue with Hibbert, Bass, and Nance Jr. I actually agree that the Lakers should bring in Hibbert but he was a second options. The Lakers needed to use there cap space anyway. He helps. However I read deals where someone want to trade Hibbert for Lopez (knicks). Hibbert is better than Lopez. One other reason the Lakers sucked is a combination of injuries and players leaving. Key players as well. So they need to build to become better. Showtime was created through the draft.

Like I said there are dumb post and believable post here. u comment on all with negative. yes hubbert for lopez is dumb. but your comments are also some of them. U believe lakers should not trade anybody and wait to struk out on free angency again? what is tat? Lakers sucked cause they had no help watsoever.

yes also defense but look at how sloppy the offense is too. just cause showtime was created through the draft doesn't mean all teams can be created through draft. look at cavs. they had hella high draft picks and they sucked until they got lebron back. I nit saying russel sucks. I like the dude but clarkson cannot shoot the ball good enough to play sg. I like the young team but still need better vets and as for melo he can help the lakers a lot.

he can help any team a shit load. there's plenty of hall of famers tat didn't see the finals. lakers didn't do crap with kobe, gasol, howard, nash. looks like defense and offense to me. lakers are my team but they got to trade to get better if they can't hit free angency.

La-beast Lakers don't need Clarkson to play sg the game barely even has positions anymore. If clarkson or Russell had to play sg Russell can kill that. Man has a dirty 3 pt shot and can bring the ball up. Its not a matter of positions it's touches and the Lakers brought in lou Williams which was dumb because he's a short Nick young and we don't need more guards. They need to keep the young core let players develop and mature and hopefully Robert Upshaw the udfa we got smartens up and plays to his potential as a ridiculous shot blocker and rebounder. All we need is a sf if were talking portion game and if not a position game we need a big athlete who is all around solid. This year is not going to be good. Realistically we will be under .500 and Kobe will retire. Build for the future don't throw it away for a "proper send off" man has to mentor the young guards coming in behind him not push for championship because that's not happening anyways

alright so ima say this again. nobody wants these young talents gone. well atleast I dont. I like clarkson, russell, and randle. the lakers only picked up lou williams because there was nobody left in free agency to sign. you said SF right? there was plenty in free angency that they misssed out on. now your hoping for undrafted players to step up. why couldn't you hope for lakers management to step up instead of picking up undrafted players. no doubt upshaw got talent but u willing to bet on him to change? lakers had a huge amount to spend and they didn't do crap. now lakers just hopes all these undrafted players do good. sounds like a horrible plan to me. they could of gotten talent from free agency instead they lagged. and once again, if nobody wants to sign with tthe lakers and other teams are willing to trade their star player for something then you got to make it happen. and also how can anybody say that carmelo can't make any team better. lol. if carmelo woulda went to chicago then it would of been different right? that question was for city dude.

To answer you question if carmelo woulda went to chicago then it would of been different right? that question was for city dude. The answer is simple the Bulls developed there talent already. Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson. These are players that the Bulls drafted. So the result would be completely different. In addition Carmelo would have gone to Bulls as a free agent and cheaper which would be a plus for the Bulls. You have the Lakers giving up assets for him 1 year after. He is coming off a knee injury. "who knows if he would have gotten that knee injury in Chicago." If he signed with the Lakers last season. Ok let's pretend. They aren't better than New Orleans or Dallas. Cause there were lots of injuries for the Lakers. I understand your point. trade now and win now. What I am saying is that the Lakers are not in that position right now. You don't agree. So I respect your thought but that is my thought and I will continue to stand by that thought.

Not just even melo. there's other players that were open for trades. its not about winning now. the last 3 years lakers have not done anything in the offseason and resign players for 1 to 2 years to leave a huge cap space and then not sign anybody again the next offseason. lakers don't need to sign a star. they just need to sign great assets to fill in the roster. now they don't have anybody but a bunch of undrafted players. i'm not into that losing or tanking crap. but your agreeing that lakers are doing everything right and I just don't agree with that. a lot of other teams got a lot better this offseason exept the lakers. lakers got very lucky with hibbert. and for all those pple that thinks hibbert sucks, u guys are wrong. he's going to make lakers better. now all we can do is see what these young undrafted rookies can do

I think that Brandon Bass and Lou Williams are great assets to the Lakers and filled specific needs. Nick Young is a question so Lou Williams can fill any void Young may not give this season. If Young steps up then great we have another contributor. All the top assets to sign every team either wants them or there really isn't too many of them out in free agency. So its all a process and takes time. I know your not use to seeing the Lakers losing multiple years in a role. We are all lucky to see them win a lot. It just doesn't happen to see 55 out of 57 winning seasons. With time I see this young talent turn into quality players. Here is something crazy but here is what type of players I see these guys becoming or close to. Randle the next Randolph, Russell the next Westbrook, Clarkson the next Monta Ellis. Lots of potential if you give it time. I want the Lakers to benefit from them.
