'' Offseason Possibilities ''

There are two restricted free agents the Lakers should try to get: Harrison Barnes and Andre Drummond. There have been rumors about GSW being in the chase for Durant, so if the Lakers go after Barnes early they'd be pressuring GSW to make a decision; they'd have to either let Barnes go or match the contract for Barnes and drop out of the race for KD. Moreover, by signing Durant players like Drummond would be begging to come to LA. Besides, I truly believe that the Lakers could sign up to 3 significant free agents in one summer (KD, Hassan, Derozan) or (KD, Batum, Hassan) or even easier (KD, Beal, Noah) . I just want to see the Lakers signing a really good SG, SF, and C.

I highly recommend that players like Clarkson, Williams, Bass, Nance, Russell, Anthony Brown and Randle are able to return next year.

And Lakers needs explore trades for Hibbert, Young, and Kelly,

This is a line up I have suggested:

Draft Brandon ingram or Ben Simmons.
Trade Hibbert, Kelly, Young, 2nd picks for Embiid
Sign Durant, Derozan, Whiteside
Resign Clarkson.

PG: Russell/ Clarkson/ Huertas
SG: Derozan/ Williams/ Frazier
SF: Durant/ Ingram/ A. Brown
PF: Randle/ Nance/ Kelly
C: Whiteside/ Bass/ Embiid

Variations [A] :
PG: Russell/ Williams/ Huertas
SG: Derozan/ Clarkson / Frazier
SF: Durant/ Ingram/ A. Brown
PF: Nance / Randle/ Kelly
C: Whiteside/ Bass/ Embiid

Variations [B] :
PG: Russell/ Gary Payton ii/ Huertas
SG: Clarkson/ Williams / Frazier
SF: Durant/ Ingram/ A. Brown
PF: Nance / Randle/ Kelly
C: Drummond/ Bass/ Embiid

Variations [C] :
PG: Russell/ Williams/ Huertas
SG: Beal/ Clarkson / Frazier
SF: Durant/ Simmons/ A. Brown
PF: Nance / Randle/ Black
C: Noah/ Bass/ Embiid

Variations [D] :
PG: Russell/ Gary Payton ii/ Huertas
SG: Clarkson/ Williams / Frazier
SF: Barnes/ Ingram/ A. Brown
PF: Nance / Randle/ Kelly
C: Horford/ Bass/ Embiid

What do you guys think?

I do agree with you as far as all of the Lakers signings go. I think that the Lakers have a better chance getting the Pistons not to match Drummond over Beal & Barnes. I think that Beal & Barnes would get matched or agree to something with there team. Durant isn't going to sign with the Warriors. The Thunder would have to agree to take Barnes, Bogut, and other players to make it work. Just not happening. Sixers aren't going to trade Embiid for those 3 players. If Drummond, Whiteside, & Noah are out then I say the Lakers resign Hibbert. Maybe Hibbert over Noah even.

I agree with these possibilities also. As for free agents I think we have a pretty good chance at signing andre drummond with the budget we have and it allows for him to promote himself in the Lakers franchise because he's still young. Harrison Barnes is also a realistic possibility but what I've read online it shows that Barnes wants more than 20mil, higher than what the warriors are offering him.

To be honest I don't think he's worth it, but if we have enough cap space and are in desperate need of an aquisition assuming the FA doesn't go too well he's one of the best choices. Kevin Durant might or might not stay with the Thunders. Reasons he would stay are that he's loyal to the franchise and fans, and the fact that Westbrook is there. He might leave because he's still ringless, meaning he might sign with teams like the Warriors (which I don't want to see happen).

he also lost his team, where he was the face of the thunders, but it looks like westbrook is doing better right now. The only reason KD would go o Lakers would be if we added elite players from trades or FA, and promote the spotlight he can have when kobe leaves, the young core( russel, clarkson, Nance, Randle, Brown). As for the Draft I also agree with you. Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram are definitely the ones we need to go for. Ben Simmons has the body of young LN, vision like Magic, and the lefty feel of Lamar Odom.

I'd pick Variation B with the exception of Bass and Kelly. Honestly don't see progress in Bass and Kelly and Nick Young has been unfortunately too inconsistent and lackluster on defense. Plus Bass was a celtic lol. So, I'd trade Bass, Kelly, Young to the Pelicans for Ryan Anderson. Anderson as a good stretch 4 and have Tarik Black and Robert Upshaw as our 2nd and 3rd string Centers.

New Variations [B] :
PG: Russell/ Gary Payton ii/ Huertas
SG: Clarkson/ Williams / Frazier
SF: Durant/ Ingram/ A. Brown
PF: Anderson/ Randle/ Nance Jr
C: Drummond/ Black/ Upshaw

Plus fire Byron Scott asap and sign eithed Luke Walton as head coach or if not get a college coach such as John Calipari, Tony Bennett, Kevin Ollie or Ryan Williams.

@Citydude Noah is better than Hibbert in every aspect of the game; not too long ago he was getting triple doubles regularly and was awarded defensive player the year.

pjw Noah has been missing a lot of games and I highly doubt he will return to any form of his good years. Past 2 seasons he has been in the decline. Hibbert has also been in decline but at least been in the line up gives some production when he is in. Not no allstar level but something. Hibbert is more reliable at this point than Noah so that's why I said Hibbert over Noah.
