Lakers offseason: (65 million cap space)

Draft: Ingram #2 ( 5 million, 60 mil left)

Sign Harrison Barnes and Whiteside each to a max (21 mil/ year each 60-42 = 18 mil left)

Sign Ryan Anderson for 4 years 44 mil (11 mil/ year. 18-11 = 7 mil left)

Resign Clarkson to 4 years 64 mil (18 mil/ year but thanks to the Gilbert arenas provision he will only take a 5 mil hit on our cap the first year. 7-5= 2 mil left)

PG- Russell/ Clarkson
SG- Barnes/ Williams
SF- Ingram/ Young/ Brown
PF- Anderson/ Randle/ Nance
C- Whiteside/ Black/ Upshaw

In my opinion we need to build our team around Russell and surround him with shooters since he thrives on the pick and roll which is why I have Anderson starting over Randle. Our starting 5 would have the potential to be one of the best defesive teams cause of the length they all have.

Thoughts?

Two things. First you have Barnes and Whiteside contracts starting at $21M each. Average on Barnes yes but the starting salary will be much less. Whiteside might get $18M max so the starting salary might be around $13M to $14M. I bring this up cause we need more salary cap money to spend on getting other players. To be honest this team you have made isn't much better than this years team. Need more scorers like a go to guy. Barnes is a role player.

Barnes is a role player on the Warriors! He can easily be a go to guy with us. With an increased role I can easily see him averaging 20-23 points and 5-7 rebounds while also being able to defend very well. I mean James Harden was a role player with OKC and look at him now.

Nance should get more playing time.
Trade Young and put Nance at the 3.

Lakers0795- James Harden averaged 20 points off the bench for OKC so we all knew that if he got a starting spot someplace else he could easily average 23 to 25 points. With Harrison Barnes he is already a starter and is getting starters minutes. let's just say Harrison Barnes get 5 more shots a game with the Lakers at a 40% average. That's only 4 points more. So instead of 12 it goes up to 16 points. So I disagree with Barnes averaging 20 to 23 points a game on the Lakers. More like 16 points which makes him a role player. I just don't see Barnes as an allstar player like Harden.
