If we want to win next year, here is, imo, a really good way to do it.

Waive Nick Young.
Resign Huertas, Black.

In Free Agency, get Mike Conley and Festus Ezeli for max contracts. sign Courtney Lee and Dwight Powell, who was really good in Dallas before he fell out of the rotation due to Javale. HE averaged essentially 12 and 10. Bring back Sasha Vujacic and Jordan Farmar. Resign Brandon Bass.

Flip Lou Williams for Dellavadova.

Draft Bender with the number 2 pick.

Trade Randle and Clarkson, and our number 32 for Tobias Harris.

Conley/ Dellavadova/ Huertas.
D'angelo/ Courtney Lee/ Farmar.
Tobias Harris/ Anthony Brown/ Sasha Vujacic.
Bender/ Nance Jr. / Bass.
Ezeli/ Powell/ Black.

With this core, we are looking at an all defensive supporting cast, who can all shoot, covering for D'angelo.
Conley will thrive next to D'angelo and Courtney Lee, picking up the hard defensive assignments, while simultaneously being the distributor and sometimes the off-ball shooter.
D'angelo will take the weaker defensive position, while shooting, scoring, with his teammates covering for his mistakes.
Tobias Harris will be the lockdown defender the lakers need, and has the ability to drive and shoot the long ball.
Bender is another porzingis, with the ability to rebound, high motor, athletic, can shoot the three ball, and a shot-blocker.
Ezeli is a space eater, with limited range, the perfect companion for Bender, while being a defensive beast.

This starting 5 completely maximizes D'angelo's talents, with also the potential for a top 10 defense in the nba.

The other 5 backup players are all defensive minded, Delly, Lee, Brown, Jr, and Powell who loves to all run the floor. Lee can be waiting for the catch and shoot while locking down the shooting guard. Delly will be throwing lobs to Nance Jr. and Powell, and will be a really strong, high energy, high defense bench.

Honestly, it all depends on whether we get Conley. We need a defenisve support around D'angelo's weaknesses.
