Cavs Pelicans Lakers (Cavs attempt for Davis)

Cavs receive
Davis
Deng
Asik

Pelicans receive
Thompson
Crowder
Osman
Clarkson
2018 Nets Pick
2021 Cavs first round
2019 Miami 2nd round from Cavs

Lakers receive
Shumpert
Frye

Cavs take on two horrible contracts and give up a chunk of their future. on in order to gain the superstar to take the Cavs over the top of the Warriors. Even if Lebron leaves Thomas Davis and Love still can contend.

Pelicans look towards a fast rebuild. The gain a young PG in Clarkson and Thompson still can develop along with Osmans potential and Crowders toughness and mentality. Of course the Nets pick is a must have in a trade for Davis and I was even considering throwing the Cavs 2023 first round Pick in the trade as well. A ton of picks for the future.

Lakers simply do this to finally get Deng off their hands. They do lose Clarkson but finally have more minutes for the rest of the youth on the team. Frye deal is expiring and Shumpert has two year but maybe a buyout or can wait it out and decide in he summer.

Pelicans most likely would trade Cousins then as well so as much as I hate it as a Cavs fan but the best option is the Celtics.

Boston Pelicans

Boston receives
Cousins
Allen
2020 Pelicans first round pick

Pelicans Receive
Smart
Brown
Morris
2018 Lakers Pick from Celtics

Bostons abundance of assests makes it easy for them to swap some of it for Cousins in order to keep up with the Cavs while also adding Allen's tough defense and the future Pelicans pick to the assets. Might be over paying a little but Boston can afford it.

Pelicans obviously do this in order to have their own pick and if you combine the Nets pick from the first trade and this Lakers Pick then that 3 potential lottery picks. Also they gain two very good young players in Brown and Smart while toughness of Morris.

Overall with the two trades the Pelicans gain:
T.Thompson
Crowder
Osman
Clarkson
Smart
Brown
Morris
2018 Nets pick
2018 Lakers pick
2019 Miami second round pick
2021 First round Cavs pick

While giving up
Davis
Cousins
Asik
Allen
2020 Pelicans first round pick

I would say that's a really good return and fair for those two and a great restart for the Pelicans

lol i don't think pelicans or cavs both would do anything close to that. and there's no way cavs won't trade frye and shump for deng.

If Davis were to be on the market several teams can give a better offer than what the Cavaliers can.

Makes no sense. Lakers are trying to shed money not add more on. Then add a first?
