We are already developing Randle, Clarkson and Nance Jr. so I am unsure why you want to trade for Embiid who has been injuried the last 2 seasons. That would be a gamble and a step back from the goal of winning. Hibbert if he were to resign would want Randle on the team. Why would he share minutes with Embiid? Way too much money for Derozan. I do agree to bring Derozan in but at a cheaper price.

2.) 21 Dec 2015 22:28:01
It's more about getting their pick, and I also believe Clarkson and Randle do not play good defense at all, and I do believe that a guy like Derozen could go that high when the cap is raised. Derozen might be willing to take a discount because he's from the So Cal area like Mayo is too.

3.) 22 Dec 2015 00:49:50
Sixers wouldn't do that. With so much heat the Sixers have been getting trading there first round pick would be the last thing they would do. Randle is a good rebounder and keep in mind he is a rookie. So he and Clarkson need to develop into better defenders than what they are now.

Both show signs in a bunch of games. Others not so much but over time that will change. As far as Derozan yes the cap and salaries are going up but giving Derozan that kind of money will leave less room for others. I say 4 years $88 million would be the amount he would sign for with the Lakers.

4.) 22 Dec 2015 01:54:50
Trading the young core lakers has been been developing for 1st pick and embid I wouldn't do. simmons would be a nice pick however lakers still got a chance to get the 1st pick themselves the way they been playing. if they get 1st pick for simmons and just sign durant or derozan (not for 140) then they will be solid again. Hibbert is ranked 6th in blocking. been doing a great job at pretecting the rims like what lakers been wanting so I wouldn't mind him back. plus he cans shoot freethrows.

2016 projected cap (91 million)
Lakers Roster as of now with 2016 contacts :
Nick Young 5.4 mil
Lou Williams 7.0 mil
Deangello Russel 5.3 mil
Julious Randle 3.3 mil
Larry Nacne Jr 1.2 mil
Total - 22.2 mil
Cap Space - 68 million
First trade Houston and Lakers
Ty Lawson and Houston 2016 1 for Roy Hibbert
Both have no guaranteed money next year and the rockets can have an upgrade with Hibbert, while the Lakers net another pick.
Second Trade Bucks and Lakers
Jamal Crawford, Lac 2016 2, Lac 2017 2, Cj Wilcox for Lou Williams
This trade nets the Clippers a way better of the bench scorer then Jamal is. This also gives the Lakers Crawford, who could be used as trade bait, and then also a former first rounder and 2 future second rounders
Third Trade Lakers and Jazz
Jamal Crawford for Utah 2017 2, and Jeff Withey
This gives Utah a scorer of the bench without having to give up much, while giving the lakers more youth and freeing cap space.
Fourth Trade Lakers- Rapters
Nick Young for Louis Scola, 2016 Raptors 2
This gives the Raptors the punch of the bench they need and it gives the Lakers Scola, who they will waive and also. another draft pick and freed cap space.
Fifth Trade Lakers Heat
Heat 2016 2, Chris Anderson for Brandon Bass
Lakers waive Anderson
This gives Heat a post who can score while giving the lakers another pick.
Now Lakers Roster of 2016 Salaries
Deangello Russel 5.3 mil
Larry Nance Jr 1.2 mil
Julious Randle 3.3 mil
Total 9.7 mil
Cap Space 81 million
2016 Draft Picks
1. #2 Brandon Ingram 5.1 mil Center
1. #20 Rockets Pick to us/ Malik Pope2.1.mil forward
2. #2 Alex Poythress 1 mil Forward
2. #20 Rockets Pick Gary Payton II 800k Guard
2. #24 Raptors Pick Wayne Selden 800k Wing
2. #28 Clippers pick Amida Brimah 800k Center
Total cap after draft - 20 million
and roster as of after draft
PG- Russel- Payton
SG- Selden
SF- Ingram- Pope
PF- Randle- Nance Jr- Poythress

PG- Russle- Lin- Payton
SG- Clarkson-Johnson- Pope- Selden
SF- Batum- Ingram- Deng
PF- Randle- David Lee- Nance Jr- Poythress
C- Whiteside- Noah- Brimah
This team has a whole lot of youth and veteran leadership, the lakers will do a great job pitching to free agents and getting them to team up to come back to La and win it again. A lot of the rooks, can hang in the d-league for a while.
I also think we would need a new HC if we want to win, so fire Byron and maybe look at Mark Jackson or Luke Walton.

I clicked Believable.

but some of the suggested signings are unnecessary; Luol Deng to play 3rd option? Lin? I think he''ll make more money playing elsewhere.
I'd rather keep Lou for Sg/Pg than Lin or Johnson. Bass, Hibbart and Nick Young are the only players I'd use as trade baits. Also, where's Anthony Brown and Upshaw?_those two presumably have some potential though instead of trying to get Brimah or Selden.

2.) 20 Dec 2015 01:05:29
I will add to what pjrw was saying. Your 4th through 8th step none of them are signing for that cheap. If the Lakers could get Joakim Noah for 2 years $15 million why would they sign Whiteside for $18 per year? I personally think that's way too much money for Whiteside or Batum.

Your trades are ok but that's only if teams would want those players for rentals for this season. Realistically Lawson for Hibbert wouldn't make sense. Houston has Howard and the Lakers are guard heavy. Lawson is still owed 2 more years. That pick isn't worth taking $26 million of Lawson salary.

3.) 20 Dec 2015 05:08:33
Yeah those last couple free agency moves were about players trying to get the Lakers a championship, which might work.

Also Ty Lawson is non-guaranteed for next year.

4.) 20 Dec 2015 07:32:33
For the Lakers to compete for a championship next season they would need to start by signing Kevin Durant. Then add 2 other quality free agents like Derozan and Horford. That's what it will take to beat the Warriors.

I think that for butler it is worth it, He's one of the premium sg in the nba but giving up simmions is just a lot, if we abandon both your trades and re sign clarkson we have ; PG Russel SG Clarkson SF Durant PF Randle C Whiteside and we have Simmions, Williams, Young , Nancd Jr, Brown, and maybe we can get Oj Mayo and Birdman and sasha to come in and sign low deals.
